Support
Need a hand with COVR, or want to tell us something? Email us and we’ll reply within two working days. It helps to include your iPhone model, iOS version and what you were trying to do.
Getting started
COVR runs on iPhone with iOS 18 or later. You sign in with Apple, and we never ask for a password or your name. When asked, allow location While Using the App so COVR can show places near you and confirm you’re there when you pray.
Why can’t I pray at a place?
COVR asks you to pray in person, so the Pray button only lights up when:
- you’re within 150 metres of a beacon, or 50 metres of any point along a prayer walk;
- your location is accurate to within 100 metres, which can take a moment indoors, so stepping outside often helps;
- location is turned on for COVR in Settings → COVR → Location.
The place’s sheet always says what it’s waiting for. Tap Guide me there for walking directions.
Speaking a prayer
Spoken prayers are transcribed on your iPhone, and no recording is made. This needs microphone and speech recognition access, and an iPhone and language that support on-device recognition. If speaking isn’t available, you can always type.
Beacons and prayer walks
- Place a beacon by tapping + on the map and choosing a spot.
- Record a prayer walk by tapping + and starting a walk. It keeps recording with the screen locked, and iOS shows the location indicator while it does. Tap Finish to review and trim the route. A walk must be at least 100 metres long.
- You can have up to 10 beacons and prayer walks in total. Remove one to make room for another.
- New places start as Only me. Choose Everyone to share one so others can pray there. Shared names and descriptions are screened automatically.
Reporting a place or hiding a creator
Open the place and use the links at the bottom of its sheet:
- Report a problem with this place if it’s unsafe, offensive, on private land, or in the wrong spot. Reports are anonymous and reviewed within 24 hours, and a place that several people report is hidden straight away.
- Hide places from this creator to remove everything they’ve made from your map. They aren’t told. You can show them again from your profile.
You can also email us about anything on COVR that concerns you.
Community guidelines
Places you share are seen by everyone using COVR, so name and describe them as you would to a neighbour, and only place them somewhere people can safely and lawfully stop. COVR has no tolerance for hateful, harassing, threatening, sexual or violent content, for spam, or for sharing anyone’s personal details. We remove places that break these guidelines and may close the accounts of people who do.
Privacy
Your prayers are never shown to anyone, and COVR doesn’t keep their words. The Privacy Policy explains what COVR keeps and why.
Deleting your account
In the app, open your profile and tap Delete account, then confirm with Apple. This permanently deletes your account, prayer history, the places you made, and your saved places. If you can’t get into the app, email us from the address linked to your Apple ID and we’ll delete it for you.
